PLANNING: front cover draft 6

Reflection- front cover draft 6:

For this draft of my magazine, I am very happy with it. I have increased the masthead size so that it is more prominent on the magazine, and more eye-catching. I also changed the font of the cover lines so they are all individual. I did this to create the sense of 'disorganized organized' which reflects the idea of needing balance in life. I have also included captions underneath two of my cover lines as this creates more depth and understanding to what these articles will be about. I was struggling to make the bottom cover line of 'Boundaries and Bliss' stand out as the text color was not being seen with the colors of the background. However, after trial and error experimenting with the colors of the text, size, font, I found that the best way to make it stand out was to use photoshop on the background of this section of the image and I carefully added a yellow looking effect, giving it a warm undertone. By doing this, increasing the text size to be thicker, and adding a line in the most problematic area, and placing the caption to illuminate some 'white space,' I found that this worked best and I am very pleased with the results. Lastly, I added in a splash effect in the top right corner of the magazine as I have used these to give a sense a creativity to the reader on the contents page and I found that it fit the house style to continue with this.
