*Blackout
Photos of
Castle Combe, house and river. Old-fashioned editing
Olivia: It
was 2011 and my mom and I went out for a walk. I was 7 at the time and well, a
kid. It was pretty normal for us to walk in the evenings, since my dad was out
with my brother at football practice. We stopped (photo of café) at the local
café to get a hot chocolate. It was pretty cold that day and the ground was
starting to get a bit slippery from ice.
Olivia:
*cut to her in chair* we were going along the bridge over the river, like we
had done everyday, and my mom seemed to get a bit jittery, she said she was
‘just feeling the cold.’ But *dramatic pause* as soon as she said that, I big
shadow came over us and I felt this sudden pound hit my head. I instantly
started drifting in and out of consciousness, and… for the few moments I had my
eyes open, a saw my mom being pushed in the back of a small car.
*Pause with
sad look*
Olivia: I
um, *crying* I don’t remember anything after that. Except, waking up in
hospital, being told that *cry* I had been in an induced coma for the last 10
years.
Interviewer:
Police worked on the case for 3 years following the incident. Looking at different
possibilities of what may have happened, where Amber could be, if she was even
still alive. After no advancements in any leads or theories, the police closed
the case and it was left unresolved. But, everything changed on August 16th,
2021.
Olivia: I
woke up.
*Beat*
Amber: This
is the true story of how my daughter saved my life. *Long pause. * And the
other 26 women who were trapped with me.
