PRELIMINARY TASK: location and setting up
While getting ready to film, I set up the space earlier in the day to make sure I was happy with the background, I then did this later in the evening which is when I filmed and found that due to the dark lighting, the light I was using reflected on the window, this led to my changing the side and angle that the light was positioned to avoid the reflection. Below are some photos from the set up in the day and from the change later on. I decided to use the light as since we were filming in the dark, there would not be any light coming from the windows, and I adjusted it to be a warm yellow light to help combat the white light from the main light in the room. I also first used the red chair seen below, yet this was too bright so in filming I changed it to a wooden one with a pillow behind it. I found that the red chair was too comfortable for the subject and the wooden one made the subject appear more vulnerable and reflects how raw the interview was. Another problem that I faced was the clock in the room as it constantly made a tick sound with the seconds, so I removed the clock and put it into another room. Overall, I am happy with the location and how it contributed in creating a 'homey' atmosphere underneath a dark story.
